Star Wars Collectors Guide - Abbreviations
My Star Wars Collectors Guide will help you find the best Star Wars collectibles. But before you 'dip in' you need to learn to 'talk the talk'.
When you start collecting Star Wars stuff, you'll see the goods riddled with mysterious abbreviations. So I have put all of them together (that I could find of course) and posted them here for you to quickly find them and translate it into something actual humans can read ;-). We can't all be fluent in 6 million forms of communications, like C-3PO!

| AAT | Armored Assault Tanks |
| ABY | After Battle of Yavin (where the first Death Star was destroyed) |
| AFA | Action Figure Authority, organization that independently grades the quality (Star Wars) action figures |
| ANH | A New Hope (Episode IV, aka. Star Wars) |
| AOTC | Attack Of The Clones (Episode II) |
| ARC | Advanced Recon Clone (as in ARC Trooper) |
| AT-AP | All Terrain Attack Pod |
| AT-AT | All Terrain Armored Transport |
| AT-PT | All Terrain Personal Transport |
| AT-RT | All Terrain Recon Transport |
| AT-ST | All Terrain Scout Transport |
| AT-TE | All Terrain Tactical Enforcer |
| BBY | Before Battle of Yavin (where the first Death Star was destroyed) |
| BF | BattleFront (as in Star Wars Battlefront, the computer ) |
| C-1 .. C-10 | Quality grade for Star Wars articles, where C-10 is best (ie. flawless mint condition) and C-1 is worst. |
| C10 .. C100 | Quality grade for Star Wars articles, where C100 is best (ie. flawless mint condition) and C10 is worst. These grades are usually determined by the AFA. |
| CIS | Confederacy of Independent Systems |
| CNP | Complete, No Package |
| CON | Convention (as in SWCON equals Star Wars Convention) |
| CT | Classic Trilogy (Episodes IV-VI, aka. Original Trilogy) |
| CW | Clone Wars |
| DS | Death Star |
| DV | Darth Vader (aka. Darth, aka. Vader, aka. Anakin Skywalker) |
| EP1 | Episode 1 (aka. The Phantom Menace) |
| EP2 | Episode 2 (aka. Attack of the Clones) |
| EP3 | Episode 3 (aka. Revenge of the Sith) |
| EP4 | Episode 4 (aka. Star Wars, aka. A New Hope) |
| EP5 | Episode 5 (aka. The Empire Strikes Back) |
| EP6 | Episode 6 (aka. The Return of the Jedi) |
| ESB | the Empire Strikes Back (Episode V) |
| EU | Expanded Universe (all Star Wars stuff that expands on but is not based on the 6 Star Wars movies) |
| GAR | Grand Army of the Republic |
| GL | George Lucas, the inventor of Star Wars |
| ISD | Imperial Star Destroyer |
| KOTOR | Knights Of The Old Republic |
| LFL | Lucas Film Limited (as a copyright with a year-number) |
| LOTF | Legacy Of The Force |
| MIB | Mint In Box (as an indication of product quality) |
| MINMB | Mint In Near Mint Box (as an indication of product quality) |
| MINMP | Mint In Near Mint Package (as an indication of product quality) |
| MIP | Mint In Package (as an indication of product quality) |
| MOC | Mint On Card (as an indication of product quality) |
| MONMC | Mint On Near Mint Card (as an indication of product quality) |
| MTFBWY | "May The Force Be With You" |
| NEW | New, as in never bought by customer in a store. This doesn't imply that the product is mint, because of the handling in stores that may have occurred |
| NJO | New Jedi Order |
| NMIB | Near Mint In Box (as an indication of product quality) |
| NMOC | Near Mint On Card (as an indication of product quality) |
| NRFB | Never Removed From Box (as an indication of product quality) |
| OSB | Open Space Battle |
| OT | Original Trilogy (Episodes IV-VI, aka. Classic Trilogy |
| POP | Proof Of Purchase |
| POTF | Power Of The Force (type of Kenner figures, produced in 1985) |
| POTF2 | Power Of The Force (type of Kenner figures, produced in 1995-current) |
| POTJ | Power Of The Jedi (type of Hasbro figures, 2000-2002) |
| PT | Prequel Trilogy (Episodes I-III) |
| RAS | Republic Assault Ship |
